810 minutes to go

The power of the written word is incredible. It was only a week ago when I was lambasting Liverpool for a pathetic game against Wigan and then this morning they turn it around with one of their best performances of the season. Coincidence? I think not.

No changes on the Serious B table this week but there was a massive change at Anfield this morning where Torres was back to his scintillating best scoring two goals and providing two more just for the hell of it, while perennial bench-warmer Aquilani chipped in with his best performance of the season with a goal of his own and an assist.

But will goals and assists alone be enough to win it in Serious B this season? Probably not. Carew-free zone has a massive 15 goal lead on his nearest rival thanks to the best strike force since Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke plundered goals and manchurian women in the late 90s. But with such a big goal lead, is there much point in keeping hold of Drogba, Defoe, Pavlyuchenko and some guy called Rooney? Surely now is the time to cash in.

And Socks XI with his a lead of 9 assists on his nearest rival could make a pretty penny on the transfer market from offloading the injured and highly rated Cesc Fabregas for some solid defensive players and make a real go at bolstering his pathetic stats in the back.

This week's trade of the round goes to Semi Hard FC who picked up no more than five players from the free market this week including Vieira, Graham Alexander and Riera. But it's the astute signings of Chelsea's Alex and Ferreira that win him this week's award. Both defenders played the full 90 on the weekend and Alex bagged himself a well deserved goal in the West Ham demolition.

There are only nine games left in the season now, that's only 810 measly minutes to make the most of your fantasy season and to prove to your wives, girlfriends and heterosexual life partners that you have not wasted the last nine months poring over statistics, previews and highlight reels for diddly squat.
